Analysis of different music magazines

  • The Masthead is found at the top of the cover on all the magazines analysed, this is usually the same on each edition of the magazine as it is the companies brand. NME is a multi-genre uni-sex magazine so the masthead is red, this does not connotate to a specific gender. Classical Music has a white sophisticated masthead which strongly relates to the genre.
  • The body language and facial expression differ in each magazine, some are looking at the camera as that engages the reader with direct contact.
  • The main puff is the name or headline of the main feature, for example Bob Marley. This is so the audience are aware of the features in the magazine.
  • The sub-heading linked to the main feature. An example is 'FRENCH REVOLUTION AT ALDEBURGH', which is located underneath the artists name on the cover of Classical Music magazine.
